SHOW TIMES

Saturday | February 29th 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Description

The “Far East Feast” is our nostaligic, delicious, and fun look back at one of our time-honored traditions: Japanese Americans going out to eat Chinese food. But not just any Chinese food. It’s the old-school Cantonese-style food we call “Chinameshi” made famous at the Far East Café in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo.

Sansei Chef John Nishio has traveled all over the country and around the world in search of the elusive tastes of the Old Far East, but with little luck. So, he decided to put his culinary skills to work and has re-created them on his own.

Here is what’s for dinner at John Nishio’s “Far East Feast”:
Seaweed Soup
House Special Chowmein
Sweet and Sour Pork
Almond Duck
Homyu
Shrimp in Lobster Sauce
Mabo Dofu
Chashu
Ginger Beef
Steamed Rice
Drinks (water, beer, hot tea, soda)
(Bring your own wine)
Also Featuring:
Favorite Songs from the Grateful Crane Singers
Tour of John Nishio’s Japanese Garden
Screening of Japanese American/Far East Historical DVD
(Produced by John Nishio)

Seating limited to first 20 people.
