In Japanese culture, “Ichigo Ichie” means “for this time only” and “once in a lifetime.” It reminds us to cherish any gathering we may take part in, because of the fact that any moment in life can never be repeated, and can never be the same. And so, at this year’s 11th annual fundraising dinner, we will celebrate the memorable, “once in a lifetime” moments members of Grateful Crane shared with the people of Tohoku, Japan over the course of our 2018 goodwill tour.
During our show, tour members will sing several of the most popular songs from our tour, you’ll see photos of the people we met, and we’ll tell you about the friendships we made from the person to person encounters we shared.
Along with our show, the event will also include a delicious Japanese obento dinner, a silent auction featuring an array of items, plus a live performance from our “Back in the Day Band” playing Sansei favorites from the 1960’s and 70’s.
So join us for an evening full of good food and good fun as we celebrate “Ichigo Ichie,” and the once in a lifetime moments with our good friends in Tohoku, Japan.
